“Batting on in 2010” - Cricket and humour introduce office block to Welsh businesses

Robert Hitchins Limited hosted a cricket themed lunch at their Fusion Point 2 office development in Cardiff City centre. Former English cricketer and current Chair of The England & Wales Cricket Team Selectors Committee, Geoff Miller was the guest speaker. Geoff’s natural ability to make people laugh was evident as he entertained eighty guests. His dry northern humour and many anecdotes from his England cricketing career ensured that the event was a great success.

Fusion Point, Cardiff wins eFIG award

Robert Hitchins Limited and joint venture partner Landmark Cardiff Limited won a Bronze Leaf Award for Fusion Point 2, from the European Federation of Interior Landscaping Group in the Design and Installation Category of £2,500 - £5,000. The office building, Fusion Point 2 is located on Dumballs Road in Cardiff and forms part of the greater Callaghan Square area, which is now established as Cardiff’s prime office location.

Up, Up and Away

Robert Hitchins Limited have been successfully developing commercial premises at Tewkesbury Business Park for nearly 30 years. To celebrate this milestone and to promote the remaining units a Pig Roast was held at Unit 3300 Tewkesbury Business Park. Over forty guests were invited to join Robert Hitchins Limited to celebrate nearly 30 years of development. The guests enjoyed a Pig Roast Buffet, a demonstration of a model hot air balloon by Exclusive Ballooning and they took part in a flying competition to win a flight in the Robert Hitchins Limited hot air balloon.

30% reduction in Oil Consumption

Robert Hitchins Limited is proud to announce a significant reduction in oil consumption has been realised at Castlegate Business Park through the installation of M2G boiler load optimisers by Sabien Technology. Richard King, Group Building Surveyor for Robert Hitchins Limited said “The group are constantly looking for ways to reduce energy costs and following recommendations from Kier Facilities Services, M2G optimisers were fitted to both of the Estates 2.4MW oil fired boilers in Nov 09. Pay-back on the investment was achieved within a four month period by realising a drop of 30% in oil consumption over the same period in the previous year; this was despite last winter being the coldest on recent record. Energy savings such as this not only benefit Robert Hitchins Limited, but also our tenants who contribute towards the running costs of our buildings”.

Further deals complete at Gloucester’s Kingsway Business Park

Landlord Bonds Mill Estate (a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Hitchins Limited) has announced that the largest remaining unit at Avionics House at Kingsway Business Park in Gloucester has been let. Knightstone Housing Association recently relocated to Suite 5, Avionics House, Kingsway from their premises at Spinnaker Park in the city centre. They have taken a new 5 year lease and their suite extends to 1,814 sq ft. Knightstone Housing provides affordable housing across the South West of England. They own and manage over 11,000 homes and work with local authorities to develop and manage affordable homes to rent. Part of Knightstone Housing Association, Futures at Knightstone offers support and accommodation to over 1,500 people to help them maintain and sustain their tenancy to prevent homelessness.

Eastern Business Park welcomes MIDSHIRE CATERING, the new operators of the Eastern Business Park Café. Midshire Catering are passionate about what they do. They provide great food, prepared and served by enthusiastic people, delivering an innovative and personal service. Former World War Two Pill Box let as Office Space

A former World War Two pill box at Bonds Mill Estate in Stonehouse has been let by the landlords Robert Hitchins Limited. The octangle bunker was originally built in 1939 and had an open parapet on the roof, thought to have been used for the mounting of an Anti Aircraft gun. Along with 15 other similar buildings it was built to protect the Stroudwater canal from enemy attacks.

Artist takes up residence at Bond's Mill

Landlord Bond’s Mill Estate Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Robert Hitchins Group) is delighted to announce that Frost Creative are the latest company to sign up for space at the Bond’s Mill Estate in Stonehouse. Robert Hitchins Limited’s first RECYCLED commercial carpet tile fit out

Robert Hitchins Limited (RHL) completed the fit out of Teme House at Langstone Business Park to deliver high quality, flexible office space on this ever popular courtyard business development. Situated adjacent to Junction 24 of the M4 and the A449, 24 Severn is ideally situated on the eastern outskirts of Newport, between Cardiff and Bristol with easy access to the Midlands. The site is next to the Hilton Hotel and overlooked by the prestigious Celtic Manor Resort, home to the 2010 Ryder Cup. With an environmental focus RHL engaged Brecon-based facilities support specialists Bbi, to use recycled carpets in the fit out. Using floor tiles sourced from existing installations means that fewer tiles are sent to landfill and less energy and resources are wasted in the manufacture of new tiles. Bbi clean and refurbish carpet tiles that would previously have been thrown away due to another organisation either changing its branding or moving into new premises, where existing carpeting doesn’t fit in with either the design or quality requirement.

UK training provider expand premises in Quedgeley

Developers Robert Hitchins have announced that training providers HHBTA are to expand their business premises at the Kingsway Business Park in Quedgeley, Gloucester. HHBTA provide professional training for the health, beauty and nail industry. They relocated their headquarters to Kingsway Business Park at the beginning of 2009 and following a successful six months at the park, they have decided to double the size of their premises. They have taken an adjacent suite in Avionics House, which extends to 700 sq ft, on a new three year lease. Wendi Hayden, director of HHBTA commented: “HHBTA - UK Ltd is a private training provider in the health and beauty industry. Our headquarters are situated in Quedgeley and we also run regular training courses in over 20 venues across the UK.

Gloucestershire Launchpad

Robert Hitchins Limited are delighted to have developed the new £5.8 Vocational Training Centre for Gloucestershire Launchpad, a partnership comprising Cleeve School, Chipping Campden School, Gloucestershire College and Tewkesbury School. This revolutionary new learning environment provides a venue for the delivery of diplomas to 14 to 19 year olds and other vocational training to young adults. Innovative construction management techniques were undertaken during the construction process to reduce the environmental, visual and social impact on the community. Recycling of building waste and surplus materials were retained on site for Launchpad to utilise in training future construction workers. The key innovative and low impact design features of the building reflect the intention to relate the design of the building to that of the existing surrounding developments. The cladding, colour and style of the elevations follow that of the completed units adjacent.

Stroud communications specialist announces relocation to Stonehouse Park

On behalf of developer Robert Hitchins Limited, property consultants Alder King have secured a new tenant for waterside office development, Stonehouse Park in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. Unit 602, a 5,700 sq ft office building constructed during the third phase of development at the office park was let to Club Communications Ltd., on a new ten year lease. Club Communications Ltd., established in 1997, supplies telecommunications resellers with voice billing, calls, connectivity and IP services, enabling them to offer an effective and reliable package to their customers.

Robert Hitchins Limited Hot Air Balloon joins Exclusive Ballooning in Celebrating 10 Years at the Top

The weekend of 18-19th April saw Exclusive Ballooning celebrate being in business for 10 years by way of a flyout over the company offices in Gloucestershire prior to a company dinner, complete with anniversary cake. Fifteen balloons flew the evening of the 18th April with Chief pilot Andrew Holly as the ‘hare’ balloon which laid out a target for the other balloons to aim for. Neil Edmunds pilot for the Robert Hitchins Balloon then gave chase, along with other balloons and pilots, some coming from as far away as Kentucky, USA. We would like to take this opportunity in congratulating Exclusive Ballooning on their achievement and wish them well in the future.

Three national occupiers to open at Castlegate

In bucking the economic trend three high profile tenants have been secured for Castlegate Business Park in Caldicot owned by Robert Hitchins Ltd. Global giant Siemens will open its water services division and the UK's largest recycler and manufacturer of paper, St Regis has signed up. Indigo Telecom has also committed to a long term presence at Castlegate. The three companies have taken more than 18,500 sq ft of office space at the business park, which is situated in South Monmouthshire.

Stonehouse office development is booming

Developers, Robert Hitchins Ltd, have just sold the last building on Phase 2 of their prestigious waterside office development at Stonehouse Park in Gloucestershire. The building has been sold to Connexus Networks a local business that provides innovative and cost effective solutions for mobile phone, voice and data networking applications. On behalf of Robert Hitchins Limited, property consultants Alder King have let an industrial unit and office building totalling 12,700 sq ft at the well established commercial location, Mill Place, off Bristol Road in Gloucester. The two units were let to Bridge Training who took Unit 1, an office unit extending to 3,700 sq ft and Unit 5, an industrial unit extending to 9,000 sq ft. Bridge Training specialises in providing training courses for participants wishing to gain new skills outside large college environments. They offer a diverse range of courses, from training in Microsoft Word packages to Car Maintenance, Electrics, Metal Craft, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing, Wood Turning and Plastering. EASTERN BUSINESS PARK

Kingsway Business Park takes off with successful launch

Regional commercial property developer, Robert Hitchins Limited, officially launched the development of Kingsway Business Park at two special events on 1st July 2008. The events took place on the site and were well attended by invited guests representing regional and national organisations and prominent members of the local business community. The launch events provided guests with a detailed insight into Robert Hitchins’ proposals for the development at Kingsway Business Park, which consists of a 40 acre site occupying part of the former RAF Quedgeley site. Jane Tooley, of Robert Hitchins Limited,hosted the breakfast and lunch events and made a presentation to around 90 guests at each event, setting out the merits of the site, in particular, its ‘green credentials’.

Stonehouse Park Bucks Economic Gloom
